PS 1010 Profile Treatment

The PS 1010's air-to-air design makes it easy to treat profiles, i.e., fiber, ribbon, small diameter wire and tubing, in a continuous manner.  In this design concept the continuous profile is payed-off from spools in atmosphere and transitions through a non-contact orifice from atmosphere (760 Torr) into the plasma system's first transition chamber at pressures less than 10 Torr.  The profile continues its path into another transition zone typically maintained at pressures as low as 0.1 Torr; then continues into the reactor (plasma) zone where the pressure is typically maintained at 0.2 to 0.5 Torr.  The profile exits through chambers identical to the entry transition cells and collects at atmosphere onto appropriate take-up apparatus.

The PS 1010 is in commercial operation treating a variety of fibers and braids to enhance resin adhesion or to alter their wetting characteristics, treating tubing to enhance over-extrusion layer adhesion, as well as treating insulated wire to enhance the adhesion and permanency of critical printing.
